High-speed belted system saves valuable floor space by enabling diverges and merges to and from vertically stacked conveyors
(Frederick, MD: April 28, 2005) FKI Logistex[R] (www.fkilogistex.com), a global leader in integrated material handling solutions, introduces the LogiSort(TM) belted vertical sort unit. The small-footprint, high-speed LogiSort sorts up to 30 items per minute and takes advantage of unused vertical space by enabling item diverges and merges to and from vertically stacked conveyors.
The LogiSort sorts items of varying weights and dimensions. It is designed for a variety of industry applications, including airport baggage handling, manufacturing and retail distribution centers.
The LogiSort easily processes irregularly shaped objects such as golf or duffel bags, garment boxes or other multi-sided packages, replacing the need for special manual handling. A compact, centralized system, it also offers reduced maintenance requirements, fewer components, and an energy-saving design. With a wide range of widths, the LogiSort is compatible with virtually any belted conveyor system, including those using item tracking.
The LogiSort is built with industry-proven components, including a durable steel frame, standard flanged bearing cartridge units for all pivoting and rotating members, and 1045 turned-ground and polished high-strength steel shafting. It also features EPAct-compliant industrial-duty electric motors and industry-leading gear reducers. LogiSort units come standard with safety guards, side guards for its articulating conveyors, and pre-wired photoelectric sensors.
The LogiSort ships as a standalone unit or as part of an integrated material or baggage handling system. In an integrated system, LogiSort units can be deployed in a redundant configuration to increase system uptime at a lower overall cost.
FKI Logistex product experts will be on hand to discuss the LogiSort and other FKI Logistex material handling technologies at booth 815 at the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Conference and Exposition in Seattle, May 1-4.
